Consultations are by appointment.
Appointment times are:
Monday to Thursday – 8:30am to 6.45pm
Friday – 8:30am to 5.45pm
Saturday 9.00am – 12 noon

We understand that circumstances can arise where you are unable to keep your appointment or need to change your appointment. However, short notice appointment cancellations and failed attendance disrupt service for other patients as well as for our staff.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, we require 2 hours’ notice of cancellation. This allows us to offer your appointment to someone else who may need urgent treatment.

Langmore Clinic reserves the right to charge a non-refundable fee of $30.00 where a patient fails to attend or cancels within 2 hours of the scheduled appointment time. This fee will need to be paid prior to booking a next appointment.

For Travel Clinic appointments, a fee of $50.00 per family applies.

Fees

From the 1st November 2017, our clinic billing policy will be changing.

Most Medicare rebates for GP services have been frozen since 1 July 2014. This Government decision has made it very difficult for our clinic to continue to meet the costs of providing a service that is safe and of a high quality and standard.

Bulk billing will continue to be available for children under 16 years old, for Script Clinic and for patients who hold a DVA gold card. All other patients will be billed privately with an out of pocket cost of $19.95 (concession card holders) and $36.95 (all other patients). These out of pockets costs have not been increased.

School students aged 16 and over, and tertiary students with a current student card, will be charged the concession rate.

The fee for a standard consultation is $74.55, or $57.55 for concession card holders.

Payment is required on the day of consultation. EFTPOS, cash, cheque and all major credit cards are accepted. Our clinic has recently introduced a streamlined process for claiming Medicare rebates with an instant refund to your cheque, savings or debit account card.

Prescriptions and Referrals

Prescriptions and specialist referrals should be obtained from your doctor at the time of consultation. All new referrals require a consultation.
Repeat prescriptions or repeat referrals may be provided outside of a consultation only if appropriate. A fee of $15 will be charged and 48 hours’ notice is required.

Requests for lost referrals will also incur a $15 charge.

Alternatively you may choose to attend our Script Clinic for a repeat script for your usual medications or a repeat referral. Script Clinic appointments are bulk-billed. Please speak to a receptionist to make a booking.

Reminders and Results

Our clinic has a reminder system in place for certain investigations and tests. Please let us know if you want to be excluded from this system.

All results are checked by the doctors on a daily basis. For results please phone the results line on 9703 9215 between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on weekdays and speak to one of our Practice Nurses. If your results are clinically significant, you will be contacted by one of our doctors or nurses.

We also use SMS to remind you about upcoming appointments and certain health checks. Please let us know if you do not want to receive SMS reminders.

 

Home Visits

Home visits are provided for current patients who are too ill to travel to the clinic. If you require a home visit, please speak to one of our receptionists. It may be necessary to discuss the situation with a doctor as well.

After Hours Care

For medical assistance outside consulting hours please phone Doctor Doctor on 132 660. Alternatively you may attend the Emergency Department at Casey Hospital, Kangan Drive Berwick or telephone the after hours GP helpline on 1800 022 222.
In case of emergencies please call an ambulance by dialling 000.

Privacy Policy

The doctors and staff of this practice are committed to giving you our valued patient, quality care and service.
We protect your privacy and treat all patient information including health and financial details as private and confidential.
We have developed and documented a privacy policy according to current privacy laws. Doctors and staff of this practice abide by this privacy policy and understand that a policy breech is grounds for dismissal.

Transfer of Medical Histories

If you are new to our clinic and would like your history transferred from a previous clinic, please speak to one of our receptionists.

If you are leaving us and would like your history transferred to your new clinic, please complete a transfer form which is available from Reception. Please note that there is a charge of $20 per family to cover handling and certified postage.

Local Hospitals

St John of God Hospital is a private hospital that caters for medical, surgical, midwifery and gynaecology patients. Some of our doctors have admission rights to this hospital. Obstetric share-care is available at Casey Hospital.
